'meaningless' Is Anything But: go4broke's New EP Digs Deep

On July 31st, go4broke (aka Parker Keskinen) released meaningless, a four-song EP that keeps changing its mind in the best way. Tracks start in one place, then crack open halfway through and become something else entirely and I’m here for it.

There's a lot of atmosphere here: synths, acoustic guitar, bigger pop moments, quieter ones. But the project never feels like it's reaching for a single sound. It feels more like Parker letting himself follow each song wherever it needs to go.

"meaningless," the title track, opens with a hyperpop-adjacent, R&B-leaning sound. It's the cleanest, most polished moment on the EP without losing the rawness underneath. It shows a side of Parker's writing and production that he hasn't really put front and center before.

"skin" is the emotional center of the project. It's about feeling disconnected from your own body, worn down, dulled out, like you're watching yourself from a distance. The production is huge and synth-heavy, the kind of song that feels made for a packed festival crowd, sweating and swaying together, singing along as the breeze cuts through. That contrast is what gets me: euphoric production wrapped around lyrics that are anything but.

"no air" starts gently, with acoustic guitar and this sweet, melancholy pull. Then it shifts into something bouncier and more danceable. The song sits in the feeling of giving someone else too much control: being seen only through their version of you, and loved only on their terms. It ends on an almost old-school hip-hop beat, another turn that somehow makes sense by the time you get there.

"posters" closes things out in a quieter, more introspective place. It's about holding onto an idealized version of someone after the real thing is gone, choosing the picture on the wall over what's actually in front of you.

What makes meaningless work is that Parker doesn't force these different sounds to match perfectly. Acoustic vulnerability, electronic production, pop hooks, strange transitions. They're all part of the same emotional mess. The EP feels less like a carefully packaged statement and more like someone feeling free to produce the music that resonates in their soul.
