Who we are
SCOUT.FM exists for the music that deserves to be heard.
We're a music discovery platform built around the belief that the most exciting artists are almost always the ones the algorithm hasn't caught up to yet. Through curated playlists, editorial coverage, and honest conversations about the industry, we dig into the indie and independent music space — not to tell you what's trending, but to shine a light on what's worth your attention.
Whether you're a listener looking for your next obsession or an artist trying to figure out how to build something lasting, Scout is for you. We cover new music, industry news, and the practical side of what it actually takes to grow a career in this landscape — because discovery means nothing without the right support behind it.
We're not chasing trends. We're finding the ones who start them.

nick mederos
Nick Mederos is a music executive, artist manager, and A&R strategist with over a decade of experience working across every corner of the industry — from artist development and live production to distribution strategy and creative operations. His career has been built on one consistent instinct: finding the artist before the room catches on, then helping them build something that actually lasts.
Nick has collaborated with artists and teams connected to Wyclef Jean, Raekwon, and Timbaland, and contributed to projects and initiatives involving Universal Music Group, Symphonic Distribution, Warped Tour, BET, Showtime, Ernie Ball, Bose, and Guitar Center. That range isn't accidental — it reflects a career spent moving fluidly between the independent and major label worlds, between the stage and the boardroom, between breaking an act and sustaining one.
SCOUT.FM is the natural evolution of that work. Built as a platform dedicated to discovering and amplifying emerging talent, Scout focuses on the indie, alternative, and genre-blending artists shaping culture before the mainstream catches up. For Nick, it's less a publication and more a philosophy — that the most important music conversations happen early, and that the artists who deserve attention most are often the ones who haven't gotten it yet.
